President Kaye of the LWML found this on her computer when she came home from church on Sunday. After being in the Philippines she has been concerned about and praying for the folks she met as well as all the people there. The typhoon is bad but not as bad as the last one. The problem was that many folks were just getting fixed up from the last one when this one came along.
Dear Madam Kay. Thank you for all the prayers for us here. Now its Monday 1:25 am . Thanks be to God the weather is better now. People can sleep better now. Silence and darkness is what I can only observe. No more strong wind and rain. God really hears our prayers. He’s so good. Thank you for giving time to pray for our safety. Maam can you also tell all the people there who prayed for us that we are so blessed and thankful to be included in their prayers. We’re so grateful to have all of you as our brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank You so much President Kay. Love Irene.
There is a particular epistle lesson that pops up during Advent – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24
16 Be joyful always; 17 pray continually; 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; 20 do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21 Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22 Avoid every kind of evil. 23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
