Sorry about the picture. We had a prayer service in which we wrote down stuff that worried us and gave it over to God and basically said that we would let Him worry about it. Then we crumbled the paper and burned it outside. Interestingly on the way out the door someone was ‘worried’ if there was a burning ban in the town. There have been rallies in Isle and Warren and there will be one at Redeemer Lutheran in Grand Forks this Saturday. I am amazed at the amount of ‘worry’ that these events bring about in the planners and the implementers. I have been accused of not worrying enough, but I got it out of my system. An ulcer at the age of 8 will do that for you.
Anyway I liked the prayer service. It is an interesting concept that some have formulated as “let go and let God”. We don’t do away with our effort, in fact we intensify it. We do the best we can with the gifts He gives us and then we let Him take it from there. Some one once said that God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply. I like that. If you know who said it please let me know.
Anyway come to the Rally at Redeemer beginning at 9:30 Saturday May 5. Redeemer is at 815 N 20th St, Grand Forks, ND 58203 – their Pastor is Pastor Laue. Speaker is Heidi Sias who will speak on Christian Joy and Pastor Chepulis the LWML Zone Counselor will be the Bible Study leader. Kyle Novak will give a short presentation on the Mary Okeyo Scholarship fund trip and we plan to wrap up at about 2;30.
