Members of the Board of International Missions have been invited to visit the International Schools in the far East – the “Concordias” are in Shanghai China, Hong Kong and Hanoi, Viet Nam. There is a system of International Schools and here the members are visiting Buena Vista Concordia International School in Shenzhen China.
The Board members are on the left – second from left – Butch Almsted, next to the right is President Yung, then Lois Peacock and John Edson. Other visitors are members of International School Board.
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod has always had a strong focus on education. As the mission field expanded beyond the United States, the LCMS opened schools throughout Asia.
Today there are nearly 200 Lutheran schools in Asia, and the LCMS operates three international schools.
We pray that God would bless the travelers and their trip.
