This is a banner picture from Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services. They have been desperately trying to get 10000 refugees out of Syria. It has finally happened. I am surprised and shocked at the details. I wrote this yesterday and didn’t publish because I was not sure that I had heard or read it right.
Just when you think that there can’t be anymore scandals, 10000 refugees have entered the United States. They are Syrian refugees and 45 of them are Christians. You can be as uninformed as you want to be about the immigration and refugee issues that are going on today but don’t be uninformed about the religious structure of this current batch of refugees who are allowed to come here because of persecution. Anyone who does not know what is happening to Christians in North Africa and Syria are either truly stupid or deliberately ignorant. How is it possible that out of thousands of refugees who are Christian in camps, segregated camps, because the Muslims force them to leave and form their own camps, our State Department immigration folks can only find 50 to rescue?
The horror of Syria is that Muslims are being terrorized and killed as well, but the plight of Christians is absolutely appalling and must be addressed.
At our last convention we passed a resolution that we encourage folks to educate themselves on the plight of the persecuted and marginalized Christians around the world and if nothing else we should pray for them. You might also want to request that your elected leaders educate themselves as well. I can’t do the math but 45 out of 10000 is paltry. There are scandals and then there are scandals. Participation in genocide either actively or by inaction and inattention certainly ranks high.
Our Synod in convention urges us to educate and act to help persecuted Christians. Call your Senators and Congress people. Call LIRS – Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services and ask them what in the world is going on?

Dear Pastor,
I am aware. The passed 2 years, at least I have been concerned with unconstitutional processes by this administration. I am also concerned about the whole immigration….I personally have been praying and will continue to pray…There is a pattern to this movement and it is not a good one…WHen good is put down – darkness fills the void…this must be stopped…We, hte people of God must be His Salt and Light.
Are you aware of the John Birch Society? It was founded by a Godly man and the principles by which they operate are Biblical, as well. I use dto think they were crazy, but thier facts over time do not lie. What got me interested in them is their past history record(s). What they say is true over time…they have stopped wretched things from occurring in this land already by hard work day after day…they look to God for their answers, as well and for their strength.
I am so thankful that you sent out this blog..I pray it will wake up many Christians…
I am not saying who I am voting for but so far Donald Trump has spoken up (and said the same thing that you just captured here). He cares and truly loves this country and its people. If uncensored, unvetted immigrants are allowed to come hear by the thousands, are we not asking for suicide of America’s culture and beliefs? I am praying like never before…A huge revival is wanted and needed in this land…I have heard Hillary Clinton say that she wants to get rid of freedom of religion in this land (she said it a Women’s World Federation conference…}
Pastor, thank you for speaking the truth…I am praying for pastors so powerfully these days-they are attacked and so many are falling for lies and not speaking the truth (His Truth) from the pulpit. Trinity in N Dak is blessed to have you as their shepherd.
God bless – He is using you!!!
I have been shocked and well aware that this refugee flow has been a major problem for a few years. I am astounded that Christians have been neglected from the start of the Syrian war. I remember the Christians standing huddled and being slaughtered with no help from our government. I am not surprised they are taking in the Muslims first look who is in the white house. Congress sits on their butts looking the other way and no church leaders are rallying the concerned like a Martin Luther King. We remain silent.
