CHILDREN:KENYA/PROJECT 24 – Catechetical Club Competition.
Every four months the ELCK leadership comes together to discuss the future strategies of Project 24. New memory verses. New songs. New outfits. These were just a few things noticed at the latest Catechetical Club Competition, hosted by the Project 24 Udom site in early August. This second competition of the year was again a wonderful opportunity for the children of all four sites to come together as a group and showcase what they have learned about the Bible as well as the small Catechism. The children from each site were able to participate in several presentations, competing with their other counterparts. These presentations included topics such as the Apostles Creed, the Lord’s supper, Poem/memory verses and Bible story dramas. It was a beautiful display of the children’s knowledge and how each of the Project 24 sites have assisted in these children’s faith walks. It brings to mind the verse Proverbs 22:6: “Train a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it”.
