I get to hear from folks around the world and find out how they are doing. There are newsletters and blogs although some of them are curtailed for security reasons that keep us informed. I also have the privilege to hear from the Chief Mission Officer of our church body and that gives us a full picture of all mission activity. Our CMO is Kevin Robson and he does a stellar job. He gave us a great overall a few days ago and some of the report concerned the Covid 19 worries and how it effects our work at home and around the world. Anyway at the end of his notes he included these wonderful words and gave us a wonderful reminder.
“Throughout these trials and tribulations, the work of the Church proceeds forward through the faithful, consistent preaching of the Word and the administration of the Sacraments. As repentant and forgiven sinners, been here before, in unity with the long stream of the saints preceding us, over millennia. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Our times are in the hands of our Almighty Heavenly Father. . . and He is working all of these crosses for our good. Please know that I continue to keep all of you in my prayers as we contend together for the light of the Gospel in a darkened world.”
