Project 24 Udom site is taking deliberate steps to become self-sustainable and cut on the site’s operational costs. They have many income-generating activities. Recently, the most notable one is maize planting.
To reduce expenditure, they leased an acre of land this year and planted maize. They were so excited to start the new planting season, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed all that. Schools were closed, and the children were sent home. Amid all the uncertainties, the staff, who remained behind, used this opportunity to help work on the farm. Last month, it was time to harvest; the staff and some Beyond Project 24 students helped harvest. This project will be used to feed the Udom children.
