A complete training event, sponsored by LCMS Disaster Response will take place at
Shepherd’s Hill at the Crossroads (SHCR), September 16-17. This LERT (Lutheran Early
Response Training) event is complete with the latest safety equipment, chainsaws,
and best-practice techniques. It’s the SHCR Lumberjack Weekend as you have never
seen it before! While serving the camp, participants will also have the opportunity
to gain the LERT Certifications necessary to operate in a disaster response situation.
The training will be sponsored by LCMS Disaster Response and led by Rev. Ed Brashier,
Southern LCMS District Disaster Response Coordinator. Pastor Ed is a second career
pastor who was a power company lineman and professional tree surgeon for 20 years
before answering the call to pastoral ministry.

(SHCR), September 16-17 as part of Shepherd’s Heart Disaster Response Ministry’s
