We are going to observe the 125th anniversary of Zion English in Grafton on Sunday. In looking back at the members that have come and gone I remember that we used to sing “How Firm a Foundation Ye Saints of the Lord” at every funeral. Hearing the stories of the early members that was apropos. It came right from Isaiah 41
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
It is remarkable how many times that phrase is used in the Bible. Moses and Abraham and Gideon heard it. Jeremiah and Isaiah proclaimed it, the angels sang it and God’s people live it.
I wrote a song about it a few years ago. It may be on this blog somewhere else but here we offer it again.
