We have tried to keep you updated on the help available and the help that has been available to Minot and the recovery efforts there. From Chisholm and Barneville Minnesota to Niagara and Grand Forks Norrth Dakota many folks have volunteered and assisted in whatever way they can. Dahlstrom Motors in Oslo Minnesota donated the “floodmobile” and a lot of, pardon the pun, water has gone over the dam, bu there is a lot more to be done. So here is the latest – please pass this on to others as you can. This is from Bill Sharpe at the North Dakota District office in Fargo……………
As was reported at the North Dakota district convention, Hope Village is a major effort to assist Minot in its flood recovery efforts. Hope Village will be able to house. feed, and bathe upwards of 200 volunteers at a time. The links below will give you a clearer picture of the project.

Most of the facilities which will comprise Hope Village are on wheels…trailers. As of now, some of these trailers are in New Orleans, some are in Texas and some are in Nebraska. So, there is a need to move them around. Some need to go to Norfolk, NE to be rehabbed. Some just need to get to Minot.
The need is for drivers with a Class A Commercial license. And, if they have their own tractor that can pull a semi trailer that would be wonderful. There is money to help with expenses.
There are several trailers (about the size of a large horse trailer) that could be pulled by a really powerful pickup truck. I’m not too knowledgeable about such things. I don’t think these require a special license.
So, here’s what’s being asked of you. Get the word out and if you have someone is interested in helping out, have them contact either Rev Paul Krueger at paulk@srt.com or phone 701 852 6404 or they can contact Mike at Orphan Grain Train in Nebraska at 402 750 9686 or email@ogt.org It won’t cost a possible volunteer anything but time to get more details about the need. It could be that someone has a truck they can lend that someone else can drive.
The plan is that Hope Village will be ready to host volunteers in April. So, there is a sense of urgency in finding drivers and equipment to move the trailers around. Please include these needs in your corporate prayers and tell the need to your members. Thanks.
This is a marvelous undertaking of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Minot. What a testimony of Witness and Mercy in the Minot Community. God’s richest blessings to all who plan and serve at Hope Village.
