LCMS Human Care and World Relief is already active in the Carolinas and Florida after the devastation made by Florence and then they were getting ready for Michael. This is the prayer offered up last week and as we are finding out several lives were lost and the destruction around the Mexico Beach area is hard to believe. As in the past we have people on the ground and district presidents and local pastors are working with LCMSDR. If you can volunteer to help in the areas effected please consider doing so.
Lord of heaven and earth, You hold all things in Your hands. Once again, as a storm causes chaos and suffering for many, we humbly beseech You to have mercy. We pray with the Psalmist and all those in the storm’s path, “Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me!” Grant that all in Michael’s path may find earthly shelter, but most of all may trust in You, whose Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, is our one rescue, rock and strong fortress. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
