I have little notes written in various places. Some of them are quotations that meant something at sometime but I never bothered to write a citation. It bothers me that someone, somewhere, wrote something sometime that meant enough for me to note it, but I don’t know who it was.
There is a phrase that comes to my mind more and more. Perhaps it as advancing age or the knowledge that the time is shorter and our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. Whatever the reason the phrase that haunts me is this; “let us see that our life answers its end”. Since we live to the praise and glory of Christ’s grace and all that we do we do in Him, there is an urgency to witness; an exigency in mercy; a crying need for more salt and more light. Our lives and work are a grateful response to the knowledge that now is the time that we “clearly proclaim the works and Word of God”.
