LWML Convention Thursday, June 20 through Sunday, June 23, 2019. The theme is “In Praise to the Lord” based on 1 Chronicles 16:23-24a which reads: Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations. The LWML North Dakota district will be sending 6 delegates, 2 young woman representatives, the junior pastoral counselor and the district president. It will be held in Mobile Alabama.
It must be a sign of advancing decrepitude that I have not had the LWML Convention on my radar. I think the LWML is one of the greatest gifts given to the church. We have an auxiliary organization that is dedicated to missions and the role of women in those missions and I appreciate them very much. Their ongoing Bible study and work at the local level is outstanding and should be a part of every congregation.
I might have been disengaged because of my own work getting ready for a synod convention but I can’t use that as an excuse. All of us should pray for the LWML convention and their work of faithful witness to Christ.
By the way their conventions are a great mix of fun, business, study and sheer joy at being joyfully Lutheran.
