1001 Orphans is an orphan support program operating out of Cabot PA. It is the foundation portion of Concordia Lutheran Ministries that has many facilities caring for the elderly and those who need care and housing. Project 24 and 1001 Orphans have been in an informal partnership for years. Last week we met in Cabot and the headquarters to discuss further working arrangements. Imagine my surprize when I saw this mural that was given by Rev. Barry Keurelainen to the organization in memory of his mother who lived there. Barry and I are classmates, and Barry’s church is across the street.

It is a gorgeous picture and the setting was nice. Barry is an old classmate that I haven’t seen in years and today I heard he is celebrating his 60th year. I might be doing that to soon. Perhaps Concordia will have a room for me.
