We started this blog because of the close connection we have with Minnesota North District of the LCMS and the crossing and recrossings of our life together. I always thought that the connections break when we get to politics and it is getting really interesting. Minnesota has a blatant anti-Semite as a congressperson, a man accused of sexual assault as its attorney general, another congresswomen that is interested in things like letting transgender women compete in women’s sports like power lifting even when women that are in the sports are complaining that transgender women are still, well, men. If that last sentence confused you that might be a good sign but there is starting to be some issues between all the diverse groups out there seeking recognition. If you get confused about the politics it is probably Ok. Remember there was a time when we could expect our politicians to be smart enough to get out of the rain and the snow.
About The Author
Rev. Bernie Seter
Rev. Bernhard Seter has been a Pastor in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod for over 42 years. He served on the Board of LCMS World Relief and Human Care for ten years and is now the Chairman of the Board of International Missions. He has been privileged to travel around the world and see the churches' mercy work in action. He is convinced it is not only what we are "compelled" to do because of Christ; it is what we have been baptized for. Christ's love compels us, constrains us, and sends us forth.
