Since we are about the connections up here in the North Country I share this – many of us in ND remember Lange from Alumni Relations at St. Paul
October 27, 2020
Dear Friends in Christ – Co-workers in the Minnesota North District:
It is with deep sadness that I share this notice with you of the death of a fellow brother in the Ministry of the Word and a friend, Rev. Dr. Jeff Walther. Pastor Walther had been diagnosed with the coronavirus and was hospitalized for the past three weeks on a ventilator. On Sunday, the Lord took his soul to heaven to await the Day of Resurrection. Thanks be to God for the victory He has given to him through Jesus Christ!
Pastor Walther served St. Matthews in Esko since 2000. From 1996-2000 he was the Alumni and Church Relations Director at Concordia University, St. Paul. His first Call was to Grace Lutheran Church in Long Island, New York from 1992-1996.
A private family Funeral Service for Pastor Walther will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11:00 am. Friends are invited to join via live stream on the St. Matthews Lutheran Church facebook page or by parking in the St. Matthews parking lot and tuning in to 99.5 FM. A Drive-Thru Visitation will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Esko from 3:00 – 6:00 pm.
Please keep his wife Christina, his children Hannah and Alex, and other family members in your prayers, as well as the people of God at St. Matthews in Esko, asking that God would soothe their sorrow and wipe away their tears with the precious promises of the Gospel. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
