The dream of the District Presidents of Minnesota North and North Dakota is to send students to Kenya to work with Project 24 rescue centers and work with deaconness’ to see first hand the real work of mercy and mission that goes on through the partner church and to give them an idea of what that work entails. A fund has been set up to pay for a students airfare to Kenya and back. Everything else, shots, funding on the ground, passport etc must be paid by the student and they must give presentations and help raise funds for the work being done in Kenya when they return. Students must be between 18-28 and fill out and application form. The target date for the first trip is May 8-18 2012 which is Spring break for many. However a prototype trip that will consider curricula and project development will be going in January. Students wishing to go on this trip should ask for an application form from the Distirct Office of Minnesota North or North Dakota.
Here is the big announcement. What was the Minnesota North/North Dakota District Project 24 Student Travel Scholarship fund – is now the Mary Okeyo Fund for Student Travel.
