A Mighty Fortress
I have mentioned that Rev. Matt Harrison wrote a book a few years back called “A Little Book of Joy” which is a treasure. I goes through the reasons for joy and how the Scriptures portray joy and what true joy is. It has a masterful grasp of the topic and is a lot of fun to read. It has a study guide and can be used for a study group and even has a list of meditations and prayers from the 90 days from Ash Wednesday to Pentecost which is a blessings in itself. Anyway the exuberance in the book is a direct result of the exuberance of the author who is a lot of fun to be around. We mentioned in this blog the Kaylee at which Matt played his banjo and did his rendition of “A Mighty Fortress”. It reminded me of Jimmy Hendrix rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” which might be pushing the image a bit far but it was great. It reminded me of the fact that I did a CD on “The Little Book of Joy” and I included my rendition of “A Mighty Fortress”. Here it is –
