So while folks were down in Mexico burning incense and taking pictures of their “auras” as they waited for the world to end, I had dinner with friends and went to bed at 9:30 listening to “The Big Theory” on the TV. I know the world will end someday and God has a plan that we are not privy to and that’s OK. Someone said today they thought the shootings in Connecticut were the final straw. Evil at that magnitude was just too much they said. I reminded them of the slaughter of the innocents in Bethlehem at the murderous rage of Herod. the slaughter of innocents has been going on for awhile. But I don’t have the energy to go down those paths today. We pray for those in Coinnecticut because that is what we do in the face of evil and we remember that the reason the end hasn’t come is that God is patient and wants all to hear the message of his love. I wrote this a few years ago. Seems appropriate this morning.
