Cats have the ability to find the most comfortable place in the house even when the sunlight is not so obviously shining through the windows. There was a story about a little dog that would find these spots in the sun and the day would grow longer the area got smaller and the dog would yip and dig around the squares of light as if he were trying to make them bigger. The punch line was that all he had to do was wait for the master to open the shades. We are like that too. God in Christ gives us all we need for life in this world and life in the world to come and we dig around the edges trying to make it better. The master has already drawn the blinds through the resurrection of Christ. It means all of God’s promises are yes and amen. Easter is God’s stamp of approval on all Jesus did for us.
This from North Dakota District President Baneck – “St. Augustine said, “We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song.” A most blessed and joyous Easter to all of you, even as we intentionally celebrate this day of resurrection for 49 days. In the words of Luther, “This is the eternal 8th day!” This is what we are really all about as Church, isn’t it? We have life and salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All that we do as congregation, district and synod is because of this marvelous day of resurrection. He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!”
Heaven is open windows and doors because the master draws the shades of life and light and salvation through Christ.
